A message from the Cleveland Foundation:
The Cleveland Foundation invites you and fellow Ohio University alumni living in D.C. to a special luncheon we’re hosting on May 9 in partnership with the Cleveland Club of Washington D.C. We thought you might be interested to get an insider perspective from Cleveland Foundation President & CEO Ronn Richard about the exciting projects and developments contributing to Cleveland’s burgeoning renaissance. If you know Bobcats living in D.C. who hail from Northeast Ohio or who have an interest in the philanthropic sector, please extend the invitation!
For more than a century, the Cleveland Foundation has catalyzed change through philanthropic investments and community leadership across Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties. Last year, the Foundation granted more than $101 million in support of neighborhood revitalization, education, reform, health and human services, arts & culture, advanced energy, and workforce/economic development, with much of this investment occurring in the core city of Cleveland. Ronn will share the latest developments in Cleveland's ongoing renaissance, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the ongoing opportunities and challenges in rebuilding the Cleveland area one neighborhood at a time. Luncheon attendees will have a chance to ask Ronn questions after his presentation.
Born and raised in the suburbs of Washington, D. C., Ronn Richard spent the early part of his career as a Foreign Service Officer, serving in Japan and then as a desk officer for North Korean, Greek, and Turkish affairs at the State Department. He served as the president of several divisions at Panasonic, then transitioned into the managing director and COO role at In-Q-Tel, the CIA's venture capital fund helping to place new technologies at the service of the nation's intelligence community. He has been leading the Cleveland Foundation since 2003. Ronn was recently named #1 for the Cleveland Magazine Community Leader Power 100 list and was featured in a story by Politico for his work engaging local residents to University Circle institutions.
